Here are some reasons to limit exposure to social media and news sources

1. Passive scrolling through social media has been linked to more feelings of loneliness

Instead: Try messaging a friend directly, calling them, or having a video chat as a group or one one one!

​

2. Spending lots of time thinking about content that stresses you out is harmful to your mental health

​

Instead: Try limiting the amount of time you spend consuming news and related media by setting a timer and stopping after your time is up, or limiting yourself to one podcast or news hour. Use that extra time to try out some fun activities!
