Behavioral activation

What is behavioral activation?

When emotions get overwhelming, sometimes all we want to do is hibernate, watch Netflix, or stay in bed. While this feels good in the moment, it actually can make us feel worse over time. In those Netflix binge moments, even if it is harder in the moment, getting up and doing something can really help. Try doing something that may be enjoyable, makes you feel accomplished, or something that is important to you. Exercising, calling friends and family, or trying new recipes may be good options! Brainstorm your own list so you can have some ideas ready to go when you feel the urge to stay in bed.
